Tell me why April felt like someone snapped their fingers and the month was over. I don’t know what it is about this quarantine, but some days go by so quickly and others feel as though there are 30 hours in a day. Overall I am so excited to announce this month’s artists of the month because her new album is coming out in a couple of days and I am stoked. Anyway, drum roll please for May’s Artist of the Month….

Kehlani

The one and only Kehlani. I was never really sure if Kehlani classified as a rapper or R&B artist, not sure why I thought that because her vocals definitely scream R&B singer. I chose Kehlani as this month’s artist because she has had an intense 2-3 years. She got pregnant with her beautiful baby and produced an album while pregnant called “While We Wait”. After she released that amazing album, she soon gave birth to her first child. She later announced her relationship with, well known rapper, YG. About a couple months after their relationship was announced to the public they broke up and the dis-tracks began. She released a couple of singles that were rumored to definitely be about her relationship with YG and how toxic and chaotic it was. Now here we are today, her new album out to the public very soon and everyone still in quarantine. At least, I have something to do while in this world pandemic. The overall reason I chose her was because I have been listening to Kehlani for a couple of years now and would consider myself a loyal fan of her music. All in all, Kehlani deserves this month because I already know her upcoming album is going to be on repeat.
