Top 3 Male 90’s R&B Artist

Photo labeled for reuse.

I am sure most people may argue this, but I am so proud to be born in 1999 because technically I qualify as a 90’s baby, which is very fitting for this blog post. All jokes aside, it was pretty difficult to find male 90’s artists I listen to, since a majority of the R&B artists I listen to are female, but I am very proud of my top 3 90’s male R&B artists.

Maxwell

I feel like there is no real need for me to explain why Maxwell is in my top 3, but this is a blog post so I kinda have to. His hit song Fortunate may sound familiar because it is used in many funny Tik Toks and used as a sample in some well known songs. I’d also  like to mention that he was born and raised in New York and his birthday is May 23 (which means it’s coming up soon). All in all, Maxwell is a great artist and don’t forget to wish him a happy birthday!

Montell Jordan

When I was younger I always heard Montell Jordan’s songs on the radio or around my house and now that I am older I kinda love them. I mean how can you not love the iconic song, This is How We Do It? It is a staple at every barbecue, family party, wedding, basically anything that involves family and fun this song is great for. That song itself is a declaration of why Montell Jordan is a genius in the R&B music industry. Not to mention, he is a fellow Sagittarius, like me, and also was born and raised in Los Angeles, like myself. Yet again I have to ask, what is there not to love?

Keith Sweat

Lastly I have to mention Keith Sweat, I swear almost every artist I’ve mentioned in this post has either a meme, Tik Tok or their song has been sampled by a popular artist. If you have heard the song Nobody, which I am sure you have (if you haven’t do it now!) it was a major hit the time it came out but also about a year or two ago when it became a huge meme across social media.

Overall, I have learned that a lot of 90’s R&B inspires famous memes, which makes the original more well known to younger generations, like me.
