Like Jill Scott and Erykah Badu the R&B community had to have needed to do a male versus battle. As many have seen, by now, there was a battle between Teddy Riley and Babyface.

Sometimes I gotta ask myself how I became such a big R&B lover when I never really started out that way. When I was younger I usually just listened to what was trending and it was usually pop music like Ariana Grande or Justin Bieber. I still do love Ariana Grande’s music but I just recently found a love for the music and sound of R&B.

I am sure most people may argue this, but I am so proud to be born in 1999 because technically I qualify as a 90’s baby, which is very fitting for this blog post. All jokes aside, it was pretty difficult to find male 90’s artists I listen to, since a majority of the R&B artists I listen to are female, but I am very proud of my top 3 90’s male R&B artists.

Yes, it is another Top 3! Are just as excited as me? Well, I sure hope so because we have entered the early 2000’s. Early 2000’s music, for me, is anything from 2000- 2009. The nine years of R&B music evolved from the 90’s, yet you can tell artists were influenced from the artists in the 90’s. I feel as though the music of the time period still involved some type of love interest, as most R&B songs do, but has bit more base and beat behind the music. Okay, enough of me rambling on, here are my top 3 male R&B artists of the early 2000’s (in no particular order).

Before I start this blog off I just have to state that March has felt like the longest month. Ever. Last but not least this is the playlist I think almost every person with feelings should have and probably already have in their collection. The “Teardrops On My Guitar” playlist is for when you are in your feels. Not just any feels, but the feels when your significant other just broke up with you… over text.
